"I will soon," Kellye told Trapper with a smile and yet still a blush to her face. She couldn't keep for letting it show on her face. And the moment  she felt John's touch on her shoulder, she could feel her heart start to flutter again as a soft and warm smile came across her face. Then she went on with her thought. "I just want to sit her with Johnson a little while longer," she told John as he got ready to do his rounds. 

She looked up into his eyes and as they lingered there, along with hers, there was something there that she could feel, and something was telling her that he could feel it too. Before John left to start his rounds, Kellye, who was still completely scared asked him something that she never thought she would. "John...I mean...Dr," she started as she swallowed hard. "I was wondering....if you aren't busy after our shift, maybe you would like to come over to my tent for a midnight drink," she said waiting for the rejection, like she's had so many times before. 

"Surgical," Hawkeye said as he walked into Trapper's tent. Then Haweye went over and sat on Trapper's cot. "I'm gonna need your help with a very delicate and complicated chest surgery that's coming in very soon," he told Trapper.

Hawkeye had a very serious look on his face as he continued his thoughts. "I don't know how long the surgery will last," he told Trapper. "It could take us all night," he said as he noticed what Trapper was doing.

 

"Oh, I caught you in the middle of something important," he said. "Well, I guess I could go ask BJ or Frank, though those to are pretty upset with me and my dad," he told Trapper. "But I was really hoping you would do it so that I could talk to you man to man," he said.

Kellye couldn't help but blush as she listened to everything Trapper told her, even though she knew it was more than just working with him that she liked. She was head over heels in love with Trapper and she was afraid that he didn't feel the same way about her as she did about him. But of course, if he did feel that way about her, he was awefully good at hiding it.

Kellye let out a sigh as she watch Trapper fade out of sight and into the mess tent. She knew that she probably should tell Trapper how she felt, but right now wasn't really the time to do it. She knew his mind was on other things, especially getting Johnson through this difficult time. So, Kellye let out a sigh and went over and sat down next to Johnson. The first thing she did was start to take Johnon's blood pressure again and noticed that his blood pressure dropped a little. 

For the moment, she wasn't too concerned, but she knew she wasn't going anywhere for the time being, no matter how tired and hungry she was. So after taking his blood pressure and then writing it down for Trapper, she sat there next to Johnson and held his hand as he continued to sleep and fight for his life. Kellye couldn't help but softly hum as she not only had Johnson on her mind, but Trapper as well and how he would take the news of her being in love with him. 

Hawkeye was getting ready to do a very difficult surgery and needed a second set of good hands to help him. And even though he could go to Frank or BJ for help, he also knew that they were quiet mad at him so he decided to go to go see his belove's brother, John. Hawkeye knew he was the best and this way he could get to know John a little better. 

So while the patient was being prepped for surgery, Hawkeye went to John's tent, hoping that he wasn't disturbing him and Kellye, which had happen before. So, when Hawkeye reached John's door, he knocked and waited for John to either tell him to come in or get up and answer the door, which he just hopped it was soon. 

"I'll worry about myself later," she told him as she realized how long her hand had been on his shoulder. She quickly removed just as a blush came over her face. She then cleared her throat as she continued with her train of thought. "Right now you need a shower and rest more than I," she added firmly but then softened a little when she heard him talking about at least going and getting something to eat. 

Kellye couldn't help but smile as she listened to Trapper giving her all kinds of compliments and she could feel herself not only blushing but heat coming from her face. Finally, after finding her voice again, Kellye began to speak again. "Thank you Doctor," she told him. "And I'm glad we pulled him through together," she told him as he patted her shoulder as he was getting ready to go to the mess tent. 

"And you don't have to worry. I'll make sure that his numbers stay up and keep going up," she told him as she went over to sit herself next to Johnson. "And I'll come get your myself if something goes wrong," she told him and then changed the subject. "We do make a pretty good team," she added with a smile. "Now go and try to enjoy the food, even though we both know it's horrible," she told him.
