Trapper chuckled low in his throat, his grin spreading slow and wide as he listened to her, his fingers tightening warmly around hers. "You've really gone and thought this through, haven't you, Nurse Kellye?" he teased softly, that familiar glint of affection in his eyes. "A romantic dinner, wine, starlight, surprises..." He shook his head, his voice dropping to a more tender murmur. "You're gonna spoil an old warhorse like me."

He leaned closer, brushing his thumb across her knuckles before pressing a soft kiss to the back of her hand. "And for the record," he said with a half-smile, "you've just described my perfect night. As long as you're there, I don't care what's on the menu."

After a beat, he tilted his head, eyes gleaming with playfulness again. "But if you're asking, I'm partial to anything that doesn't come out of a can. Maybe a good steak, mashed potatoes—something that actually reminds a guy he's human."

He paused, gaze softening. "You remembering that day... means more than you know, Kellye. I wasn't sure I deserved a second chance at something real out here. Guess you proved me wrong." He smiled again, that easy, heartfelt kind that made the MAS*H tents feel a little less gray. "Now, about that passionate kiss at the end—pretty sure we don't have to wait for the anniversary to rehearse that part."

Kellye's smile brighten as she sat down next to him. She reached over and took her John's hands into his as she began to speak to him. She couldn't help but chuckle at John's joke as she replied to it. "Believe me, he's definately not my type," she told him. Then she leaned over and softly kissed his lips softly. Then she pulled away as she continued talking to him. "Anyway, I was thinking that maybe this anniversary, we could spend a romantic night together," she told him. "Which includes a romantic meal, wine, a stroll under the stars," she told him dreamily as she looked away from him for a few minutes and then looked back at him, still smiling. 

"And then everything will end with the most romantic and passionate kiss that could have us maybe spending the night together," she added as she was proud that she had this all thought out. "I hope that sounds good to you," she told him still smiling as she gave his hands a little squeeze. "And of course, there could be a couple of surprises for you along the way," she told him as she then changed the subject and went back to reply to everything he told her. 

"And of course I remembered," she added. "Not only did I write it down, but I could never forget the day that we made our relationship offical," she said happily. "And most women are better at relationships than men, but between you and me, I think you are doing great," she added as she then pulled out a notebook as she went back to planning their romantic night. "Now, back to our special night," she added. "What is your favorite meal?" she asked knowing they haven't had any real food since getting to Korea. So, he would probably have questions about why she was asking, but that was something he was just gonna have to wait and see why she asked.

Trapper lowered the book from his face, eyebrows lifting when he saw Kellye. A slow grin spread across his lips.

"Sure, doll," he said, swinging his legs off the cot and patting the spot next to him. His eyes flicked over her smile, checking her mood before he teased, "You're not about to tell me you're running off with Hawkeye, are you?"

When she shook her head, he chuckled and leaned back on his hands. "Alright then, shoot. What's on your mind?"

As she explained she wanted to talk about something, his expression softened. He leaned forward, elbows on his knees, giving her his full attention. "You've got me curious now. You're smiling like you just pulled one over on Radar."

When she mentioned their upcoming anniversary, his face lit up even more, boyish and warm. "Our anniversary? You remembered." He shook his head with a laugh, reaching out to squeeze her hand. "Hell, Kellye, you're better at this relationship thing than I am."

He gave her a sheepish little smile. "I didn't make any plans with the boys, promise. Whatever you've got in mind—count me in."

A Korean Love Story

Kellye and Trapper made their relationship almost a year ago. In fact, their one year anniversary was coming up fast and even though she knew they couldn't leave the camp for a while, Kellye still had the resources to put together the best celebration dinner and party she could come up with. But before she started writting letters and making plans, she wanted to go find Trapper and make sure he didn't have any other plans, especially with the boys. So, Kellye walked over to his private tend and knocked on the door before walking right in. "Hey Trapper," Kellye said as she saw him laying on his cot reading a book. "Can we talk?" she asked him and she was wearing a smile so he didn't get the wrong idea.
